The video consists of fragments of a documentary film about the singer, also called "My Mind & Me" ("My Mind and Me"). In it, Gomez spoke candidly about life with a mental illness - in 2018 she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The singer admitted that at first, she did not want to release a documentary - the material turned out to be too personal.

The film "My Mind & Me" and the video were directed by Alek Keshishyan, who previously worked with Selena Gomez on the "Hands To Myself" video. He has also collaborated with Madonna, Elton John, Fergie, and Savage Garden. In "My Mind & Me" Keshishyan acted not only as a director but also as one of the scriptwriters. According to him, he did not seek to make a typical pop documentary. He wanted to do something "authentic" - he was hooked by the "natural vulnerability" of Selena Gomez.

The documentary "My Mind & Me" premiered on November 2. It received good reviews from critics and received Critics Choice Association and Variety Hitmakers awards. But there were some scandals: actress Francia Raisa did not like what the singer called Taylor Swift her “only friend in the industry”. Recall: in 2017, Selena Gomez underwent a kidney transplant, and Raisa acted as a donor. Some felt that the singer behaved ugly towards her friend, whom she called her sister. Others, on the contrary, criticized Raisa and accused her of trying to get attention.

Selena Gomez's latest album, Rare, was released in January 2020. In 2021, she released the Spanish-language EP "Revelacion" and starred in the series "Murders in the same building." In an interview with Rolling Stone, the singer revealed that she is already working on new material. She has written 24 songs and is going to start recording the next record at the end of 2022.
